A production widely cited for its great sympathy between the principals. There can be no doubt that Karel Roc was (and performed as) one of the most treasurable partners of his day, and it was gratifying to find his embrace so movingly cherished and explored as it was by Zdeno. You could pluck any instant of their engagement from thin air, blindfolded, and discover timeless jubilation.
